Important: Soil with a high clay content is not suitable for planting potatoes.

The first is applied when buds appear, and the second after flowering. The plants also require organic fertilizer. Bird droppings can be used as an alternative.
Weeding, loosening, and hilling are crucial procedures. Weeds can reduce potato yields several times over. Therefore, it's essential to remove weeds from the plot promptly.

To improve fruit quality, loosening the soil is necessary. This procedure removes the top crust from the soil, allowing oxygen to reach the plants. A rake is best for this task. Loosening should be repeated three times.

Please note: Additionally, loosening the soil after watering is necessary. For this, use a hoe. Work carefully to avoid damaging the plants.

Hilling also helps protect crops. However, many gardeners use the unhilling technique and are very pleased with the results. Hilling should begin when the bushes reach a height of 15 cm. It's best to do this in the morning or evening.

Storage rules

Harvesting of the Vineta potato variety begins two months after planting. If you want to prepare new potatoes, you can begin harvesting after 45 days. Harvesting begins as soon as the tops turn yellow.

To preserve the tubers over the winter, it's necessary to create optimal conditions. Potatoes should be stored in a well-ventilated area at a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius. Once the tubers are dry, they should be placed in nets and boxes. This variety stores well; simply store them in a cellar.
