Ingredients:
- tomatoes – 450 g;
- water – 500 ml;
- dill greens - a couple of sprigs;
- granulated sugar – 35 g;
- table salt – half a tablespoon;
- table vinegar – 1 tbsp;
- garlic – 3-4 cloves;
- peppercorns (allspice) – a couple of peas.
How to prepare tomatoes with garlic for the winter
Let's start by preparing the containers: select jars of the appropriate size, wash them with baking soda, and then sterilize them in the microwave or oven. Boil the airtight lids for ten minutes. Place the dill and allspice into the sterilized, dry jars.
Pierce washed, small tomatoes with a fork or skewer to prevent them from cracking when exposed to boiling water. Now tightly fill the jars with the tomatoes.
Pour a portion of boiling water on top. Let the mixture rest for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare the garlic: peel it and press it, or grate it finely. Make the marinade: combine clean water, table salt, and sugar in a saucepan. Once boiling, add a splash of vinegar. Pour the cooled water from the jars and add the chopped garlic.
Then, pour the freshly made marinade over everything. Seal the jars with sterilized lids and leave them wrapped and upside down to cool.
Bon appetit.
