How to prepare tomatoes and apples for the winter
Prepare all the necessary ingredients according to the list. Wash and dry the tomatoes, and cut out the stems. Cut the tomatoes into small wedges or leave them whole if they are small.
Wash and dry the apple, remove the core. Cut the apple flesh into cubes or slices.
Prepare a sterile jar: wash it with baking soda first, then sterilize it in the oven, over steam, or in the microwave. Place a clove of garlic and a couple of sprigs of dill in the bottom of the prepared jar. Fill the jar with tomatoes and apples, alternating layers.
Pour boiling water over the ingredients in the jar and leave for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, drain the water into a saucepan, bring to a boil and pour it back into the jar for another 15 minutes.
Drain the water into the saucepan for the last time, add salt and sugar, simmer for three minutes, and then pour in the vinegar. Immediately return the marinade to the jar and seal it tightly. Turn the jar upside down, cover with a blanket, and leave it alone for 24 hours. Store in a cool, dark place.
