How to prepare pear jam for the winter

Any variety of pear will work for making jam; choose the one you like best. Prepare the pears for further cooking: wash them and cut them into wedges, removing the inner part where the seeds are. The skins are quite thin, but if you really don't like the peel, you can peel them, if you prefer.

peel and chop the pears

Next, using a regular meat grinder, chop all the peeled pears and place them in a pre-prepared, convenient saucepan or ladle for cooking.

mince

Add the required amount of sugar to the pears and place on the fire, after mixing thoroughly.

add sugar

Once the pear-sugar mixture comes to a boil, reduce the heat and simply time it—about an hour and a half. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.

That's all.

cook jam

After you turn off the stove, all that's left to do is pour everything into sterilized jars and seal the lids. It's best to prepare the jars in advance by washing and sterilizing them. Do the same with the lids.

put into jars

Wait until the jam has cooled completely and then safely store all the jars in a cool place, although this delicacy keeps well even at room temperature. Just remember, once opened, the jam should be stored in the refrigerator with the lid on.
