Preparations for the winter

apple puree with condensed milk "Nezhenka"

The selection of all kinds of baby purees is now huge, but the prices are not at all encouraging, and besides, the most delicious and healthy fruit puree is the one made at home. You will know for sure that it does not contain harmful additives, preservatives, or flavor enhancers, and that the fruits selected for it will be ripe and of high quality.

To make Nezhenka apple puree, you'll need the simplest ingredients: fresh apples, preferably juicy sweet varieties, and condensed milk. The recipe for preserving the puree for the winter is also quite simple.

Sugar is optional; it's only useful if the apples are a bit tart. As for the condensed milk, choose a product from a trusted manufacturer—it should be thick, creamy, and contain no added milk powder, thickeners, or vegetable fats.

Ingredients:

  • apples – 1 kg;
  • condensed milk – 200 ml;
  • water – 0.5 cups;
  • sugar – to taste (if necessary).

How to make apple puree with condensed milk

Peel the apples, cut the peeled fruit into wedges, and remove the cores and seeds. Then cut into small pieces or thin slices to speed up cooking.

cut the apples

Transfer the apple slices to a saucepan or cauldron and add a little water. Even if the apples are very juicy, you still need to add water, otherwise the apples may burn or stick to the bottom when heated.

add water

Place the apples in the saucepan over low heat. Once it starts to boil and bubbles appear, cover with a lid and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes.

boil the apples

Simmer the apples, stirring occasionally, until soft. The apple slices will become lighter in color, and the flesh should mash easily when pressed.

To puree the apples, you can use an immersion blender or strain the cooked mixture through a sieve. Choose the appropriate method and turn the apples into a smooth, homogeneous puree.

make applesauce

Heat the puree until it boils. As soon as bubbles begin to form, add the condensed milk. Stir quickly to combine both ingredients.

add condensed milk

Heat the puree until it reaches a boil. The color will lighten, and the consistency will become smoother and creamier. Pour the hot puree into clean, sterilized jars and seal.
