This recipe is for 1 kg of cabbage, 1 kg of carrots, and 1 kg of onions—it's quick and easy to make, and very easy to remember. Here's a detailed recipe with step-by-step photos.
Ingredients:
- cabbage – 1 kg;
- onions – 1 kg;
- carrots – 1 kg;
- tomatoes – 1 kg;
- sweet pepper – 1 kg;
- cucumbers – 1 kg;
- salt – 40 g;
- sugar – 100 g;
- vegetable oil – 1 cup;
- vinegar 9% - 0.5 cups.
How to prepare the "Beware of Vodka" salad
Prepare all the vegetables for the salad. Remove the outer leaves from the cabbage; do not wash it. Wash the tomatoes and cucumbers, trimming off the stems and ends. Peel the carrots and onions and rinse under cold water. Chop the cabbage into strips.
Cut cucumbers and tomatoes into slices.
Remove the seeds from the bell pepper and cut it into strips. The pepper is very aromatic and will add even more flavor to the salad.
Cut the onion into thin half rings and grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
Place all the vegetables in a saucepan, add sugar and salt, and stir several times.
Drizzle the salad with oil and 9% table vinegar, toss, and let marinate for 1 hour. The vegetables will release their juices, and we'll simmer the salad in this marinade.
Bring the salad to a boil, reduce heat to medium, and simmer for 10 minutes, no longer. This will preserve the crisp flavor and fresh aroma of the dish.
While hot, place the mixture into clean, sterilized jars and fill with the marinade.
Roll up the lids and wrap with a blanket. Store the finished salad in a dark pantry. Refrigerate the jar for 15 minutes before serving. This delicious appetizer will enhance your lunch or dinner. Enjoy!
