Sparaxis planting and careIf you're interested in the southern beauty sparaxis, including planting and care in the open ground, and photos, you won't be disappointed. This delicate flower is sure to become a favorite for years to come. Sparaxis came to us from South Africa and has recently become a fixture in our flowerbeds, enchanting with its delicate beauty and vibrant colors. Resembling tiny stars, sparaxis transforms any space into a colorful carpet, and landscape designers often use it in their compositions that adorn gardens and flowerbeds.

The most beautiful plant species include: Lord of Fire, which will decorate any landscape interior with its fiery tongues of flame; Bilbifera will spread out with a delicate and spreading carpet of white and yellow stars; and Grandiflora will be the most fragrant.

Growing and care

Growing sparaxis in the garden isn't particularly difficult. Just choose a location right away—full sun, fertile, well-drained soil, and no shade. Dig up the bulbs for the winter, preserve them in peat or sawdust, and replant them in the ground in the spring. Then, once the leaves appear, provide regular watering and mineral fertilizer. In addition to watering, misting is also necessary, twice a day in hot weather, morning and evening. This southern beauty will thrive, and you'll enjoy its stunning blooms.

You can also plant it in the garden using seeds, but here you need to use the seedling method, and bring it out into the garden when it is already quite warm, because any cold snap can be fatal for young sparaxis.

After the plant has finished flowering, remove all faded parts. Once the flowers have completely finished blooming and are dry, dig up the bulbs and store them until spring. This way, you can enjoy the beauty of your sparaxis for several years to come.

In room conditions

You can prolong the joy of gazing at the magical stars by planting the plant in pots in the fall and placing them on sunny, draft-free windowsills. The plant also looks beautiful in bouquets, pairing beautifully with any other flora.
