Growing and care rules

Orange Strawberry tomatoes are easy to grow and care for.

Mid-season varieties are sown only in March, depending on weather conditions. For example, residents of central Russia should plant tomatoes only in mid-May, as the soil needs to warm up to approximately 15 degrees Celsius (59 degrees Fahrenheit) initially.

After sowing the seeds, place the container in a warm place with a minimum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. Once the sprouts appear, move the container to a light location and maintain the temperature at 15-16 degrees Celsius for a week, after which the temperature is increased to 20-22 degrees Celsius.

When the first two leaves appear, the seedlings are transplanted into larger or separate boxes, ensuring the mandatory use of fertilizers such as potassium and superphosphate.

Then, the plants are pricked out, during which weak seedlings are removed. This largely determines the likelihood of a high-quality harvest.

The "Orange Strawberry" variety produces its first flower cluster only when it has eight leaves, so the seedlings shouldn't be allowed to stretch too much. During this period, daylight hours should be approximately 16 hours, and fluorescent lamps can be used.

To promote root growth, planting in tall pots is recommended. Once the tomato plants have established themselves, it's a good idea to add soil. Fertile, well-drained soil is recommended. To improve yield, add the following fertilizer to the holes before planting: one liter of sifted ash, one liter of compost, and two tablespoons of superphosphate. Be sure to water the holes and add mulch.

After planting tomatoes, it is advisable to refrain from fertilizing and treating the plants.

When the first two flower clusters appear, treat the bushes with a boric acid solution. To do this, dilute 10 grams of the powder in 10 liters of water. Repeat this treatment every couple of weeks to stimulate tomato growth, increase yield, and improve flavor.

Root feeding is recommended for tomatoes.

  1. Manure infusion. Use one liter per 10 liters of water. Be sure to add one liter of ash and a tablespoon of superphosphate. Water the roots of each plant with 500 milliliters daily. This procedure is carried out during the growth of tomato plants.
  2. During fruiting, a special solution is also used: one tablespoon of nitrophoska and one teaspoon of sodium humate per 10 liters of water. Add 500 milliliters under the roots.

Proper and comprehensive care guarantees a bountiful harvest. The "Orange Strawberry" tomato variety is resistant to pests and diseases, so care should be aimed at increasing and improving the yield.
