How to make plum and orange jam

Let's prepare the fruit: halve the plums and remove all the pits. Don't peel the plums to ensure they stay whole after cooking. Peel the orange and cut into small pieces. The orange pieces will impart a unique aroma and flavor to the jam. The peels can be dried and used for winter tea instead of discarding.

prepare the fruit

Place the fruit in the container where you'll be making the jam and sprinkle with granulated sugar. Don't stir the fruit; just give it a gentle shake; the crystals will melt anyway.

add sugar

After 2-3 hours, place the jam on the stove and simmer over low heat. Reduce the fruit's temperature, and after 40 minutes of slow simmering, the citrus jam is ready.

cook jam

Place the hot jam into pre-washed and dried jars, filling them up to the shoulders.

put into jars

Seal the jars with lids and let them cool completely under a warm blanket. Store the finished jam in a regular pantry. It's important to keep the jars away from direct sunlight.
