Plum in Chocolate Jam with Cocoa - the most delicious
Once you've tried one spoonful of this jam, it's hard to resist grabbing a second, then a third, a fourth, and a fifth. It's so delicious, aromatic, and tender! Meanwhile, making "Chocolate-Dipped Plum" with added cocoa is no more difficult than making regular plum jam. Five minutes before the end of cooking, butter is added to the saucepan, which makes the jam thick and soft. Adding butter doesn't affect the storage method or shelf life—this has been proven time and again.
You can also add a small amount of chopped nuts to the preserves – it will be even tastier!
Ingredients for 1 jar with a capacity of 0.5 l:
- plum (blue, red) – 500 g;
- granulated sugar – 190 g;
- cocoa powder – 2 tbsp. l.;
- drinking water – 40 ml;
- butter – 50 g.
How to make chocolate-covered plum jam
Wash the plums thoroughly and dry them thoroughly with paper towels. Remove the pits and cut the flesh into 6-8 wedges.
To prepare this jam, it is advisable to use juicy, sweet and sour, fleshy plums with a rich color and aroma.
Place the plum pieces in a saucepan or bowl for cooking jam.
Add water and a tablespoon of sugar there.
Place the pan over medium heat and cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring with a wooden spoon. The plums will soften, release a lot of juice, and become deformed. Skim off any foam that forms on the surface of the jam with a slotted spoon.
Mix the remaining sugar with cocoa powder.
Add it to the plums, stir, and return to the heat. Cook for another 7-10 minutes, stirring with a spatula.
Then add a piece of butter to the jam – it will give the treat a velvety texture and make it thicker.
Boil the jam for another 5 minutes, then place it in sterile glass jars and close with clean, dry lids.
It's best to store this jam at a cool temperature, away from sunlight and moisture. The shelf life of the preserves is approximately 1 year.
This chocolate-plum jam is delicious, rich, and aromatic. Its thickness and consistency are more reminiscent of jam. It's delicious spread on a slice of fresh bread or half a bun.
Enjoy your tea and successful preparations!
