Grape juice without a juicer
If you don't have the necessary equipment in your kitchen but really want to make juice for the winter, don't worry, there's always a solution. This recipe will show you how to make grape juice at home without a juicer and delight your family with a cup of aromatic and healthy drink on a cold winter evening.
Different grape varieties are suitable for this recipe. You can use a single variety or blend several to achieve an even richer flavor, color, and aroma. The recipe specifies the weight of the berries picked from the bunch.
Ingredients:
- grapes 3.5 kg;
- sugar to taste;
- water 2 glasses.
How to Make Grape Juice Without a Juicer
First, prepare the grapes. Transfer the bunches to a colander. Rinse thoroughly to remove dust and dirt. If you find any defective berries, remove them immediately. Separate the berries from the bunch.
Now you'll need a 5-6-liter saucepan. Use stainless steel or enamel; it's best to avoid aluminum. Place all the berries in it and add two cups of tap water. Set the heat to low, cover, and bring to a boil. Don't stir.
As the berries heat, they will gradually release their juices. It will take about 30-40 minutes for the contents of the pan to reach a boil. At this point, stir well with a spoon. Reduce the heat to a gentle simmer and cook for another 15-20 minutes.
After the specified time, more juice will be released and all the berries will be covered in liquid. Remove from heat and cool until warm.
Strain the warm juice to remove the pulp. Use a fine sieve or several layers of cheesecloth. Squeeze the pulp thoroughly.
Return the juice to the pan. In this case, you'll get 2.5 liters of pure juice. It's very concentrated. Dilute it with water to your desired taste, add sugar to taste, return to the heat, and bring to a boil. Boil for 5-8 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare the containers. Wash the jars and lids with baking soda, rinse under running water, and sterilize. Pour the boiling juice into the sterilized jars.
Cover with sterile lids. Invert and let cool completely in this position.
Then move it to a storage room or basement.
Grape juice without a juicer is ready.
