Stewed cabbage with mushrooms
Let's prepare a simple and delicious dish – stewed cabbage with mushrooms. The recipe is accessible to everyone, and step-by-step photos will show the preparation process in detail.
We'll use cabbage, carrots, and onions as the base. You can add button mushrooms or other types of mushrooms, such as oyster mushrooms or wild mushrooms. If you prefer a bright and rich mushroom dish, you can add mushroom seasoning. Besides mushrooms, you can add potatoes, green beans, and a little bell pepper.
You can serve stewed cabbage with mushrooms with a slice of bread, pickled cucumbers, or any side dishes of your choice.
Ingredients:
- cabbage – 250 g;
- carrots – 1 pc.;
- onion – 1 pc.;
- champignons – 200 g;
- salt, pepper – to taste;
- vegetable oil – 2 tbsp;
- garlic – 1 clove.
How to cook stewed cabbage with mushrooms
Prepare all ingredients according to the list. Select a large onion, peel, rinse, and dry it. Chop the onion into small cubes.
Peel and rinse the carrots, then grate them on a medium grater. You can cut the carrots into strips or cubes if desired.
Select firm cabbage and remove the outer leaves. Shred the cabbage into thin strips, using a cabbage grater.
Heat a few tablespoons of vegetable oil in a frying pan, then add the carrots, onion, and cabbage. Fry the vegetables for a few minutes. Wash and dry the mushrooms, then chop them coarsely. Add the mushrooms to the frying pan with the cabbage. Add salt and pepper to taste. You can also add a clove of garlic.
Reduce heat to low, cover the pan with a lid, and simmer the cabbage for about 25 minutes. At the end of cooking, taste and serve.
