Very tasty stewed cabbage with chicken
A delicious everyday dish – stewed cabbage with chicken. This appetizer recipe is simple, quick, and, most importantly, affordable. Cabbage prepared according to this recipe with photos can be served with any side dish – potatoes, porridge, or pasta – whatever you prefer.
You can use any cut of chicken for this stew, but the best choice is boneless, skinless chicken fillet. Be sure to add carrots and onions, and a little tomato or ketchup if desired. You can simmer the cabbage in a saucepan or frying pan.
Ingredients:
- cabbage – 40 g;
- chicken fillet – 1 pc.;
- carrots – 1 pc.;
- onion – 1 pc.;
- salt, pepper – to taste;
- vegetable oil – 1 tbsp;
- water – 80 ml.
How to cook stewed cabbage with chicken
Prepare all ingredients as listed. Select a medium-sized chicken fillet, rinse, and pat dry. Cut the meat into small pieces.
Next, prepare a large onion, peel, rinse, and dry it. Then, chop the onion into small cubes.
Peel, rinse, and dry the carrots. You can grate them coarsely or cut them into strips—whichever you prefer.
Select a firm head of cabbage, remove the outer leaves, rinse and dry the cabbage. Cut the cabbage into strips.
Heat a spoon of vegetable oil in a frying pan, add onion, carrots and chicken – fry for 6-8 minutes.
Then add the cabbage, salt, and pepper to the pan, add a little water, cover, and simmer for 40 minutes over low heat. Serve the finished dish.
