You can use any meat – pork, beef, chicken, turkey. In this case, we're using pork, as it makes the cabbage especially tasty. We'll also add carrots and onions to the dish, and you can adjust the spices as desired.

You can serve stewed cabbage with any porridge, potatoes, or pasta. You can also add a variety of homemade pickles, fresh vegetables, and herbs.

Ingredients:

  • cabbage – 250 g;
  • pork (pulp) – 200 g;
  • carrots – 1 pc.;
  • onion – 1 pc.;
  • vegetable oil – 1 tbsp;
  • salt, pepper – to taste;
  • water – 80 ml.

 

How to cook stewed cabbage with meat

Prepare all the necessary ingredients according to the list. Choose a large onion, peel and rinse, then cut it into small cubes.

Peel, rinse, and dry a large carrot. Grate the carrots coarsely; you can cut them into strips or cubes if desired.

Select a medium-sized cabbage, remove the outer leaves, and shred the head of cabbage into strips. You can also use a grater for shredding the cabbage.

Rinse the pork and pat dry. Cut the meat into small pieces.

Heat a couple of tablespoons of vegetable oil in a frying pan, then add the cabbage, onion, and carrots. Fry the cabbage for a few minutes. Then add the pork pieces. Stir everything together and fry for a few more minutes, then add salt, pepper, and water. Cover the pan with a lid, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 35-40 minutes.
