Lazy cabbage pie with kefir
Quick baking will help you out if unexpected guests arrive or if you have an unplanned dinner. The simplest kefir pie with a cabbage filling bakes in 30 minutes, and prep takes no more than 20 minutes—it simply doesn't get any faster.
This pie requires simple ingredients that you'll always have around the house. The dough doesn't require kneading or long waiting times, so this cabbage pie recipe can easily be called lazy.
Ingredients:
- cabbage – 250-300 grams;
- kefir – 1 glass;
- flour – 1 cup;
- sour cream – 1–2 tablespoons;
- vegetable oil – 3 tablespoons;
- garlic – 1 clove;
- carrots – 0.5 pieces;
- eggs – 2 pieces;
- baking powder – 2 teaspoons;
- salt, pepper.
How to bake a lazy cabbage pie with kefir
Beat eggs with salt, add sour cream and stir the mixture.
Pour in warm kefir and one tablespoon of vegetable oil.
Add baking powder and mix.
Add flour and mix the mixture.
The dough should flow off the spatula in a wide ribbon.
Peel the carrots and grate them on a fine grater.
Chop the cabbage.
Place the cabbage in a frying pan with heated oil and sauté for 5 minutes.
Add carrots and continue cooking for three minutes.
Peel the garlic and add it to the cabbage. Season the filling with salt and pepper.
Grease a baking pan with oil and pour in half of the batter.
Place the filling and smooth it over the surface.
Pour the remaining dough and place the pie in the oven at 180–200 degrees.
Bake the product for 30 minutes until golden brown.
Place the pie on a serving plate and let cool slightly.
Cut the product into portions. The pie has a porous dough structure and a balanced flavor.
Tea or vegetable juice are good drinks to pair with cabbage pie. The pie gets stale, so prepare it in small batches.
