The best varieties of sweet peppers resistant to viral diseases

Pepper

When growing peppers, gardeners sometimes encounter diseases in their seedlings. These diseases can affect the quality of the future harvest and even ruin it completely. Therefore, when growing peppers, it's important to select varieties resistant to viral diseases. These varieties are suitable for both open ground and greenhouses, and the plants themselves grow strong and produce good fruit in the future.

Funtik

Semi-determinate plants are suitable for outdoor and greenhouse cultivation. The bushes are compact, requiring little space, and reach a height of 50-70 cm. They produce abundant leaves. From sowing to harvest, 110 to 120 days pass. Peppers develop vigorously, reaching maturity in 10-15 days. This variety is resistant to verticillium wilt, tobacco mosaic virus, and other viral diseases.

pound

The peppers are irregularly shaped and have smooth edges. They weigh between 140 and 170 grams and are 12-14 cm tall. The skin is no more than 7 mm thick. Each plant produces approximately 12-18 peppers at a time. The skin turns bright red with a glossy sheen when biologically ripe. The peppers are primarily used for processing and fresh consumption. They are suitable for long-term storage.

Funtik has the following advantages:

  • possibility of outdoor planting;
  • unpretentiousness in cultivation;
  • compact bushes;

cabin boy

These determinate bushes, up to half a meter tall, are compact and don't take up much space in the garden. They can be planted at a density of 5-6 bushes per square meter, without interfering with each other's growth. Maintenance is minimal—no staking or pinching is necessary. This variety grows well in outdoor soil and can be planted under plastic. Technical maturity occurs 105-110 days after sowing the seeds for seedlings. Within a week, the peppers begin to turn red. Each plant produces 8 to 15 peppers.

You can enjoy the flavor of these peppers from the second half of summer. The fruits ripen very appetizingly: the red glossy skin glistens in the sun. The shape is conical, slightly ribbed. The pericarp is 5-7 mm thick, and the pepper weighs 150 g. The flavor is sweet, without sourness, and the flesh is juicy. Young's pepper is grown for fresh consumption, preserved food, and stuffing. The benefits of this crop are listed below:

  • small bushes;
  • minimal maintenance;
