Many people love marmalade, but they've stopped buying it in stores because of its unhealthy ingredients. But you can make this sweet treat yourself, without much effort.

Homemade plum marmalade is a healthy and natural product. It's very easy to make: it requires minimal ingredients and this simple recipe with photos.

I had some frozen plums left in the freezer after winter, and I decided to make marmalade with them. You can use either frozen or fresh plums.

Ingredients:

  • plums - 600 grams;
  • agar-agar - 10 grams;
  • granulated sugar - 8 tablespoons;
  • water - 75 milliliters.

Remove the pits from the plums. If you're using frozen berries, it's best not to defrost them completely. Once the plums have thawed slightly, cut them in half and remove the pits. Then puree the plums, flesh and skins, in a blender.

chop the plums

Pour the resulting mixture into a small saucepan with a thick bottom and cover with sugar.

Bring to a boil and then simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the swollen agar-agar and cook for another 3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Pour the plum mixture into small silicone or other molds. If you don't have small molds, you can make the marmalade in a larger mold, such as a cake pan. Let the marmalade cool at room temperature, then transfer it to the refrigerator for half an hour.

Once the marmalade has set, carefully remove it from the molds. If desired, you can roll it in granulated sugar.
