Red Sea Salad with Crab Sticks and Tomatoes
A delicious, beautiful salad can be prepared in minutes. Don't believe me? Try making the "Red Sea" salad. It will pleasantly surprise you and your loved ones with its rich, unusual flavor and appealing appearance.
The dish is made with crab sticks, red bell pepper, tomatoes, and hard cheese. The salad gets its name from the concentrated red ingredients in the recipe. It's very simple to prepare, yet delicious, juicy, and vibrant.
Ingredients:
- crab sticks – 200 gr.;
- hard cheese – 100 gr.;
- tomatoes – 200 gr.;
- red bell pepper – 150 gr.;
- salad mayonnaise – 100 gr.;
- table salt, pepper – to taste.
How to make Red Sea salad
Wash the red bell pepper, remove the stem and seeds. Cut it into strips. Place the pieces in a deep bowl.
Cut the crab sticks into strips. Add them to the peppers. If you don't eat crab sticks, you can easily substitute squid or shrimp. The salad will be just as delicious.
Wash the tomatoes under running water. Cut them into strips, like the other ingredients, and add to the bowl. To prevent the salad from becoming watery and mushed, use only plump, firm, ripe tomatoes.
Grate hard cheese on a coarse grater and also place it in a container.
Season the dish with salt, spices, and mayonnaise. Mix thoroughly with a spoon.
Done. Before serving, garnish the dish with a sprig of fresh herbs.
There's no need to refrigerate it. It's best to serve the salad in a medium-sized bowl or salad bowl.
This dish is perfect for both a weekday and a festive lunch. It's a great help in case of an unplanned feast, as it's very quick to prepare. What's more, you can experiment with the salad's ingredients: add other seafood, hard-boiled eggs, and more. That's why it's definitely worth trying at home.
