How to cook herring under a green fur coat
For convenience, you can use a removable mold. If you prefer to buy whole lightly salted herring, you'll need to clean it and fillet it. Remove all bones from the fillets.
Cut the herring fillet into small cubes. Arrange it as the first layer, and begin forming the layered salad.
Lightly sprinkle the herring layer with mayonnaise.
Cut the green onions into small rings and place half of the portion on top of the herring.
Boil the potatoes in their skins, cool, and peel. Grate the potatoes coarsely and arrange them on top of the green onions. Lightly salt the potato layer, as it was boiled without salt.
Pour mayonnaise over the potato layer.
Cut the fresh cucumber into small cubes and add to the salad. Drizzle this layer with mayonnaise as well.
Grate the cheese and add it to the salad as the next layer. Soak the cheese layer in mayonnaise.
Garnish the salad with the remaining green onions. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes to marinate.
Serve the finished salad.
This bright, colorful, and delicious salad will be a revelation for you and your guests. Enjoy!
