Gardeners strive to grow only tomato varieties that produce a bountiful harvest without the use of pesticides and other harmful chemicals. One such variety is the "Azhur" tomato, a determinate hybrid. The characteristics and description of the "Azhur" tomato are presented in this article.
The advantage of "Azhur" tomatoes is their short ripening period: from seed germination and the emergence of the first shoots to harvesting the ripened fruits, it typically takes 105 days. This variety is very popular among large farms, and it is officially registered in the State Register as a crop for cultivation in open ground or greenhouses.
The bush typically reaches a height of about 80 cm. The inflorescence is simple in structure, and the fruits are flat-round, rich red or crimson-red, smooth, and have dense, fleshy flesh. The tomato's nutritional composition is surprisingly complete and balanced: it contains vitamins, minerals, organic acids, and sugars. The average fruit weight is about 250 g, and with careful care, it can reach even 400 g. Despite its fleshy, rich flesh, the tomato's density allows it to be transported over long distances without losing its marketable appearance or flavor.
This variety's yield is also impressive—with balanced care, up to 6 kg can be harvested from one square meter of soil. To ensure the largest tomatoes possible, the plant is kept to a small number of clusters, with no more than three tomatoes per cluster.
The "Azhur" tomato is versatile in its uses. It's eaten raw as an ingredient in vitamin-rich salads, and is also a popular choice for winter preserves.
Growing "Azhura" will seem simple even for a novice gardener. The tomato is quite low-maintenance. The only important thing is to tie it up and secure it to a support, as well as to shape the bush into a small one. Excess buds will need to be removed periodically.
This hybrid is resistant to a number of diseases, including powdery mildew, blossom-end rot, and root rot. Its attractive appearance and excellent flavor are preserved for three months when stored in cold storage. Its dense skin prevents cracking, allowing it to be successfully transported to the end consumer.
Tomatoes such as these are stable and can be stored for a long time. RocketRead more about this variety here.
