Characteristics and description of the tomato "Dimensionless"

Tomatoes

Tomato varieties with large fruits have always been highly prized by vegetable growers. One such variety is the recently introduced "Bezrazmerny," which quickly gained popularity due to its flavor and good yield.

Main characteristics and features of the Bezrazmerny tomato

As mentioned above, this honeycomb is a relatively new variety, developed by Russian breeders in 2013. However, gardeners who have already grown it speak highly of it.

The variety itself is determinate and mid-season. It's quite versatile—suitable for both greenhouses and open ground, and can be grown both commercially and in the home garden.

The plant is medium-sized, reaching a maximum height of 1.5 m, but the bushes are robust. The foliage is emerald green. The first flower cluster usually forms above the 8th or 9th leaflet.

The fruits are large, with the first ones weighing up to 1 kg, and subsequent ones being slightly smaller. The tomatoes are elongated in shape, averaging 15 cm in length. The fruits are fleshy and firm, with few seeds. The flavor is slightly sweet. With proper care and favorable growing conditions, a single bush can yield up to 6 kg of tomatoes.

The main purpose is that the variety is universal; tomatoes can be canned, eaten fresh, and used to make juices, tomato paste, sauces, etc.

Advantages and disadvantages of the variety

The Bezrazmerny tomato is highly valued by vegetable growers for its wide range of benefits, among the most obvious of which are:

  • The fruits do not crack when ripe.
  • Suitable for growing both in greenhouses and in open ground.
  • Not bad yield.
  • No side shoots are required, but they can be grown in three-stemmed rows. Important! If you're growing tomatoes outdoors, side shoots should be removed before the first inflorescence.
  • Good transportability (tomatoes are picked at blanched ripeness during transportation).
  • For the next planting season, you can collect the seeds yourself.

But there are also certain disadvantages that you should keep in mind when planting.

  • Short shelf life when fresh - up to 20 days when fresh.
  • The fruiting period is prolonged - you will have to wait some time until the second harvest.
  • The upper fruits begin to fill out after the lower ones are harvested.
  • Staking is required, otherwise the bushes will fall to the ground.

Features of cultivation and care

This variety can be grown from either seeds or seedlings, but seedlings are preferred because they allow the plant to grow faster. Sow the seeds about two months before planting in the ground. Time your planting according to regional conditions; it's important to avoid frost after planting. This is usually done in March or April.

The seeds should be selected and prepared for this:

  • Pour water into a glass and add half a spoon of salt.
  • Mix everything, add seeds and leave for half an hour.
  • Throw away the seeds that float to the surface, and spread those that remain on the bottom on a wet cloth and leave for a few days to germinate.

Once the seeds have sprouted, they can be planted. You can prepare the soil yourself, but it's best to use a ready-made mixture, as it already contains all the necessary elements.

After sowing, cover the containers with plastic wrap and leave them in a warm place for a while. Remove the plastic wrap once sprouts appear. Water moderately, as needed.

Once 2-3 leaves appear, you can transplant. The container should be large enough—at least 500 ml. Important! Water the seedlings generously, but not frequently. Don't allow water to stagnate, otherwise the plant may become diseased!

Plant the plants when they're 60-65 days old, usually with their first flower stalks already showing. Start hardening them off about 10 days beforehand to allow them to acclimate to the temperature and establish themselves more quickly. This is especially important when growing outdoors!

Prepare the beds in the fall, adding humus, compost, and fertilizer. When planting seedlings, space them evenly; no more than three plants per square meter is recommended.

After planting, immediately install a support for each bush, and then tie it up so that the bushes do not fall over during the fruiting period.

Aftercare is standard:

  • Timely watering.
  • Weeding and periodic loosening of the soil.
  • Tying up the stem.
  • Pest control.
  • Fertilizer.

How to fertilize correctly?

Remember that fertilizing is necessary at least three times per season, but it should be done sparingly. Fertilizers used for fertilizing include:

  • Complex.
  • Mineral.
  • Organic.

Among the most popular fertilizers are:

  • Bird droppings.
  • Herbal infusions.
  • Ashes, cinders.

But remember that overfertilizing can also harm the plant, so everything should be done in moderation. If you're a novice vegetable gardener, you can use a store-bought fertilizer, which makes it very easy to apply correctly following the instructions.

Susceptibility to diseases and pests

One of the significant advantages of this variety is its high resistance to most diseases. However, to avoid unnecessary problems, remember to take preventative measures. Copper-containing preparations and fungicides are commonly used, but it's important to follow the instructions strictly.

Regarding pests, aphids are worth mentioning, as they are the main pest of the Bezrazmerny tomato variety. To combat them, chemical pest control products are readily available at gardening stores.

Tip! If you're wary of using chemicals to control pests, you can use garlic infusions, liquid soap mixtures, and vegetable oils.

Feedback from those who planted

Elena

This is my first time planting this variety, but I've already fallen in love with it. It's delicious, juicy, and aromatic. And what I especially love is that it's large! It's also very easy to care for. I'll be growing more; I've already collected the seeds.

Sergey

A wonderful variety, nothing superfluous. I, like many others, loved its large size. I also loved its disease resistance. And you can cook so many things with it!

Dmitry

An excellent variety that I will recommend to all my friends and acquaintances. A large, fleshy tomato that looks great both canned and fresh. Nothing but positives for me!

The Bezrazmerny tomato is a large variety that makes a great addition to both a greenhouse and a garden. With proper cultivation techniques, this variety will pleasantly surprise you with its harvest!
