Characteristics and description of the tomato "Miracle of the Earth"

Tomatoes

This variety was bred by amateurs, making it quite difficult to obtain genuine seeds. Genuine seeds are sold by the company "Sibirsky Sad." Others sell counterfeits, and the resulting tomatoes are yellow, pink, and red.

The variety was included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements in 2006 by individual entrepreneur V.N. Dyadenko.

Characteristics and description of the variety

This variety is considered mid-season. The determinate bushes are medium-sized, reaching up to 1 m in height. The leaves are medium-sized and dark green. Each bush produces 8-10 clusters. With proper care and proper cultivation, up to 10-14 clusters can develop per bush. Each cluster produces and ripens 6-8 tomatoes.

Productivity

In southern Russia, if you grow tomatoes properly, you can harvest up to 20 kg of fruit per square meter. If you plant seedlings in less fertile soil in regions subject to sudden weather changes, you'll harvest 12-15 kg.

Feedback from those who planted

Ilya, Krasnodar

I noted that the planted seedlings are easy to care for. Overall, I'm pleased with the variety and will definitely be growing it next year.

Margarita, Sevastopol

I really liked that the fruits retain their shape and excellent taste after several weeks.

Height, plant weight, color, shape

The bushes grow up to 1 m tall, with dark emerald leaves. The fruits are crimson, round, with moderately visible ribs. They have a typical green spot near the stem. They have a thick skin, are juicy, and very sweet. The fruits are fleshy, with 4-5 seed chambers. Each fruit weighs 380 g, but can reach 700 g.

Features of growing and caring for the variety

Those who have planted these tomatoes know that their leaves curl in the summer. The bush has medium foliage, so the leaves curl to reduce water evaporation.

In hot weather, spray the bushes with warm water. Remove side shoots from the bushes. This is done when the side shoots reach 5 cm. Regularly inspect the bushes and remove side shoots.

ImportantTomatoes love mulching. This means adding a layer of chopped straw or grass under the soil. If the tomatoes are mulched, they can be watered once a week, as mulch retains moisture, prevents weed growth, and prevents the growth of bacteria, viruses, and fungi.

If you don't mulch your plants, rain will expose the leaves to water mixed with soil, which can harbor fungi and bacteria. Mulching, however, will keep the leaves clean and healthy.

Advantages and disadvantages of the variety

This variety has a number of advantages:

  1. Gives high yields.
  2. Since the skin of the fruit is thick, tomatoes do not crack, and they are also easy to transport even over long distances.
  3. The bushes are drought-resistant, so even those who can't live there full-time can plant them at their dacha. Visitors can come on Saturdays and Sundays to tend to the bushes.
  4. The fruits are versatile in consumption, although they are best suited for salads.
  5. They have a long shelf life. If stored properly, you can treat yourself to a New Year's Eve treat. They can be picked green; as they ripen, they become juicy and sweet.
  6. The bushes have high immunity to tomato diseases.
  7. This variety is not a hybrid, so you can collect seeds and plant them next year.

The variety also has some minor disadvantages:

  1. The bushes need to be shaped and the shoots need to be removed.
  2. Ripening speed.
  3. This variety is considered mid-season. It takes approximately 100-110 days from planting to harvesting.

The main purpose of the variety

The fruits are versatile. They can be eaten fresh or added to salads. They can also be pickled, marinated, stuffed, juiced, and used to make ketchups and pastes.

In which regions is it grown?

Those who live in southern Russia and plant tomatoes there reap particularly large harvests. According to observations, those who planted tomatoes reap the best harvests:

  • in the Astrakhan region;
  • in the North Caucasus;
  • in the Krasnodar region.

In more northern regions, the variety needs to be planted in greenhouses or hotbeds.

Resistance to diseases and adverse conditions

The bushes easily tolerate drought and heat; the tomatoes do not produce barren flowers, and their ovaries do not fall off. They are also resistant to low temperatures.

The variety is resistant to diseases, especially to such a common disease as late blight.

Timing of planting seedlings

Sow seeds from March 10th to 20th. Select them by adding 1 teaspoon of salt to a glass of water, placing the seeds in the glass, and waiting 15 minutes. The poorly sized seeds will float, while the best seeds will sink to the bottom. Select the seeds that fall to the bottom of the glass, rinse, and dry them. It's also recommended to germinate the seeds by placing them in a damp cloth for a few days.
