The "Dachnik" tomato is one of the early tomatoes with a high yield and excellent flavor. It's not for nothing that this variety is called "Dachnik," as it's considered the best for growing in your own garden, as well as one of the most flavorful and delicious tomatoes.
An early variety that produces tasty and aromatic fruits very quickly. Thanks to its short stature—just 50-70 centimeters—it can be grown not only in a garden or greenhouse, but also in windowsill boxes. The "Dachnik" tomato, whose characteristics and description we'll share today, quickly produces delicious and healthy fruits of a beautiful scarlet hue. Here are the main features of this wonderful variety.
Features of the "Dachnik" variety
It's considered one of the earliest and most undemanding tomatoes. The fruits begin to ripen after just 98 days, sometimes earlier or slightly later, depending on the conditions. In high humidity and good soil, the fruits ripen significantly faster; in dry soil, they ripen more slowly. Furthermore, don't forget about the plant itself, as the health of the seedlings and the development of the bush depend on the quality of the seeds.
Typically, 5 or 6 large fruits ripen on each branch, but 4 are more common. This variety is very resistant to outdoor cultivation, as well as greenhouse conditions. The Dacha is also prized for its ability to grow well on balconies. This low-growing plant tolerates cold winds, drafts, and insufficiently warm soil, but gardeners do not recommend planting it in loose soil. Ideal soil for it is soil previously used for growing onions, carrots, and other vegetables. Soils previously used for growing potatoes, peppers, and various types of nightshade are not suitable for this tomato variety. Excessively fertile soils are not suitable for it. In such soils, the plant will not grow vigorously and may become diseased. However, this tomato is highly resistant to late blight, a devastating disease for tomatoes.
This variety is known for its abundant fruit production, especially in greenhouse conditions. It can be watered and fertilized like other tomato varieties. It's easy to care for and can produce excellent fruit whether grown indoors on a windowsill, outdoors, or in a greenhouse. This beautiful and delicious tomato contains more vitamins and minerals, making it suitable for people with diabetes and various heart conditions. The "Dachnik" tomato has helped restore strength for many people who spent time in the hospital. However, it should be consumed with stomach conditions characterized by low acidity. Then, it will help restore strength and can cure an upset stomach.
How to use
Despite its early maturity, this tomato variety is distinguished by its high and fairly dense yield. It bears fruit until late summer, and the entire bush is simply covered with round, red-orange tomatoes. Typically, the fruits are round, slightly flattened, with a pleasant flavor and aroma, thin skin, and a hint of tartness. The flesh is quite fibrous and slightly dry, making "Dachnik" a great choice for making delicious and flavorful tomato pastes and juices.
This tomato variety may not be suitable for long-distance transportation. Firstly, its fruits have rather thin flesh, even when green. The average fruit size is approximately 100 or 120 grams, no more. This makes this variety suitable for hamburgers, various sandwiches, and salads. It also makes excellent tomato paste and juice, although "Dachnik" is not suitable for long-term storage. For this reason, it is used as an excellent salad tomato, suitable for fresh consumption.
