Characteristics and description of the Wild Rose tomato

Tomatoes

For any cook, aesthetics are crucial, not just the perfect taste. When you look at a prepared salad and see even slices of juicy, pink tomatoes, the desire to eat it arises even more quickly.

One of the common varieties of pink tomatoes is "Wild Rose", the breeding of which is due to four authors.

Characteristics and description of the Wild Rose tomato variety

The Wild Rose tomato variety is one of the tallest tomato varieties. Bushes reach 2 meters or more in height, making this variety a high-yielding variety. With proper watering and timely pinching, the tomato clusters can reach significant weight due to the number of fruits. The tomatoes are a delightful pink color, as is their flavor: juicy, sweet, and melt-in-the-mouth. The fruits are large, flattened, and slightly ribbed on top. These tomatoes have a distinctive scent, very fresh and aromatic. The leaves are a rich green. However, one small drawback is the short shelf life of this variety.

One of the vegetable's characteristic properties is its weight. Since the fruit is quite large, preserving it is impractical. It's an ideal variety for making tomato juice and sauce, as well as salads and as an ingredient in entrees.

The advantages of the variety are resistance to rod-shaped viruses, heat resistance, high yield, and excellent taste.

Features of cultivation

This tomato variety is a mid-early variety and can be grown both outdoors and in greenhouses. This suggests it's a more southern tomato variety.

Due to the fact that the variety is tall, in order to produce an abundant harvest, it requires a lot of space both in height and in terms of the area of planting the bushes.

Wild roses are grown exclusively from seedlings. Before planting the seeds in seedling containers, they must be disinfected by soaking them in a solution of potassium permanganate, and the soil must be mixed with humus or another natural tomato fertilizer. About two to three weeks before planting, the bushes must be hardened off by taking them outdoors daily and letting them sit there for 15 to 20 minutes.

Seedlings can be planted in the ground when the temperature reaches at least 7 degrees Celsius, as lower temperatures can kill the fruit. Early June is a good time to plant seedlings in the ground.

To plant tomatoes in open ground, dig holes 70 cm apart. It's best to mix the soil with humus to ensure the seedlings take root better. After transplanting, you can sprinkle the holes with ash, which also acts as a fertilizer. It's best to prepare stakes for tying the bushes up right away, as this variety can reach a height of 2 meters or more.

To ensure good fruit production, the bushes must be watered thoroughly, but only with warm water, never from a well. Once the water has soaked into the soil, loosen it.

It's best to start fertilizing tomatoes for the first time no earlier than 2-3 weeks after planting. A good natural fertilizer is diluted cow manure, as well as bird droppings.

As the bushes grow, they must be pinched out and treated with pesticides and pesticides, which can be purchased at specialized gardening stores.
