Tomato "Dubrava": characteristics and description of the varietyGardeners today increasingly prefer tomato varieties that are low-maintenance, require no staking or pinching, and produce a good harvest when grown outdoors. The "Dubrava" tomato is one such variety: characteristics and description.

The Dubrava tomato is a low-growing plant, typically reaching no more than 70 cm in height. The foliage is quite dense, covering the entire bush. It produces few branches, and the fruits are decoratively arranged among the green foliage. Among the undoubted advantages of this variety are:

— early ripening of fruits: the period of full ripening reaches 85-110 days;

— high resistance to changing weather conditions. Even if the climate predicts, for example, unexpected, sharp cold snaps, the tomato will easily withstand them without damaging the fruit;

— high yield: about 5 kg of tomatoes can be grown on 1 square meter of land if the plant is properly cared for;

- does not require pinching;

- does not require tying due to its small height;

— the bush holds its shape well due to its stability, i.e. there is no need to provide support;

- high resistance to various diseases.

Tomato "Dubrava": characteristics

Thanks to its compact size and early maturity, the "Dubrava" tomato can be successfully grown even on a balcony windowsill. The fruits are medium-sized, round, red, and weigh between 55 and 110 g. The flesh is meaty, the walls are thin, and the seeds are few.

The appeal of this variety is that it can be used both for raw consumption and for making preserves (ketchup, juice, puree).

Seeds for seedlings are sown in late March. Plants are transplanted to the garden beds in May or June, depending on the stability of nighttime temperatures in different climates. To increase yields, both seedlings and mature plants need regular feeding. Agricola and various humic growth stimulants are good for this.

Tomato plants thrive on a south-facing site, where sunlight is predominant throughout the day. The 'Dubrava' variety is unique in that it can be planted in the same spot for several years in a row. Avoid planting tomatoes too close together. The optimal distance is about 50 cm.
