Iskusitel is a mid-season variety with yellow fruit. The period from the first shoots to fruiting is 110-115 days. It is intended for greenhouse cultivation.
This plant grows tall and requires staking and pinching. It produces the best fruit when trained to one or two stems.
The fruits of the tempter are large, flattened and slightly ribbed. When ripe, they are yellow-orange in color and weigh 300-400 g. Some specimens can reach 800 g. The fruits have tender flesh and an excellent flavor. They are used both fresh and in various sauces and juices.
First, prepare the vegetable seeds for growing in a plastic greenhouse. To do this, select them by placing them in a 5% saline solution. After ten minutes, remove any seeds that float to the surface. After this, place them on a damp cloth, cover with another cloth, and leave them in a warm place for 20 hours. The seeds are now ready for planting.
The landing process itself
- First, take a container, place the prepared soil in it, and shake it well. This is necessary to ensure a perfectly level surface. Next, spread the seeds on the surface of the soil.
- The next step is to treat the seeds with a weak solution of potassium permanganate. To do this, spray the seeds with it using a spray bottle.
- Next, cover the entire container with a 1-cm-thick layer of substrate. Cover the container with plastic wrap and place it in a warm place. Lighting is not required at this stage. Seed care consists of checking the seeds every 2-3 days and misting them with warm water.
When the first sprouts appear, you should remove the film from the container, reduce the temperature and add lighting.
- When the first true leaves appear on the plants, gently transplant them. You can use any small containers you have around the house: plastic cups, bags, or plastic bottles.

Caution! There's only one complication when growing plants in plastic cups: the small volume can cause the soil to dry out and crack. To prevent this, you can use tea leaves left over from brewing. This unusual mulching method will help retain moisture better.
Planting seedlings in a greenhouse
The best time for planting seedlings in a film greenhouse is considered to be April - early May.
Preparing the premises:
- in greenhouses covered with film, the covering is replaced;
- carry out sanitary treatment;
- carry out adjustments to the irrigation and ventilation systems.
First, you need to dig holes 20-25 cm deep, with a distance of about 70-90 cm. The distance between bushes can be about 30-35 cm.
The next step is planting the seedlings. The containers are brought indoors, planted in the prepared holes, and secured. To do this, we hang hooks, wrap a rope around them, and lower it down to the plant. We tie the seedlings as low as possible.
Creating a favorable microclimate for tomatoes in a greenhouse
- Lighting requirements. Tomatoes are sun-loving plants. It's important not to overdo it with light. Too much light can cause the leaves to become enlarged, but the fruit will not set.
- Temperature. The most favorable temperatures are considered to be 22-25 degrees during the day and 16-18 degrees at night.
- Humidity. 60% is considered the optimal humidity level. Higher humidity levels can cause fruit cracking.
Watering rules
Plants need water when the fruit is filling out. However, excess moisture can lead to late blight and brown spot.
The watering schedule can be made as follows:
- from April to the beginning of July – once every three days;
- from July to August – once every 4-5 days;
- from August to September – once every 5-6 days.

Diseases that affect tomatoes
White spot
Signs: Stems and leaves become covered with small, dirty-white spots with a dark border. By late summer, small black dots appear.
How to fight: this disease can be defeated by spraying with such agents as 1% Bordeaux mixture or 0.5% copper chloroxy.
Black spot
This disease affects the stems and fruits of tomatoes. Initially, elongated dark spots appear on the petioles. The spread of the disease is largely dependent on the weather. High humidity is a favorable environment for its development.
How to fight: Spraying is carried out as in the case of white spot.
Blackleg
This disease most often affects tomato seedlings. The lower part of the stem begins to darken. It occurs due to excess moisture.
How to fight:
- sanitary treatment of soil and seeds before planting;
- moderate watering;
- ventilation of the room in which the seedlings are growing;
- avoid shading.
Blossom end rot
It occurs in dry climates and low humidity. It appears on the top of the fruit, where it becomes covered with hard, brown spots. These spots affect the entire flesh of the tomato.
How to fight: provide the plant with the necessary moisture.
Phytophthora
Brown spots appear on the fruits, which later affect the entire pulp of the tomato.
How to control: Spray tomatoes with a phytosporin solution. You can also add the solution to the water and water the tomatoes. This will help remove all fungal spores from the soil.

I bought tomato seedlings at the market on the advice of a neighbor. I planted them in a greenhouse. Since this variety isn't particularly disease-resistant, I disinfected them. I tied up the bushes immediately after planting. Overall, I liked the variety; the fruits are delicious.

I ordered seeds online because I really liked the reviews. I grew them in a small plastic greenhouse. The plant is quite fussy and requires a lot of attention, but I was delighted with the harvest. My whole family ate the tomatoes, and I also made a lot of juices and ketchups.
