  • Early maturing, the first fruits appear after 80-85 days.
  • The tomatoes are scarlet in color and slightly elongated.
  • The fruiting period is about 40 days.
  • You can plant up to 4 bushes per 1 square meter.
  • The weight of one fruit is 260-300 g.

  • The fruits ripen early.
  • Frost-resistant.

Flaws

  • Requires a lot of light.
  • It is necessary to feed well.
  • A determinate variety. Requires pinching and staking.
Advice: The best fertilizer for this variety is weed infusions. Feed them once a week until mid-July.

6 planting tips

  1. The highest yield can be achieved if you grow Lyubimets in a greenhouse.
  2. The planting sites should be well lit by the sun.
  3. It is important to protect plants from drafts.
  4. One of the main conditions is regular, abundant watering.
  5. The soil for planting should be pre-treated, moist and loose.
  6. Before planting in the ground, seedlings should be hardened off - this will help the bushes develop faster, become stronger and more resistant to various diseases and pests.

Care

  • Treatments with specialized pest and disease control products should be carried out several times per season. Spraying with a whey solution (1 liter per 12-liter bucket of water) every 0-14 days can help slow the development of late blight.
  • After planting, it is advisable to tie up the bushes immediately and do this regularly as the plant grows.
  • During the growing season, the air temperature should not fall below 22 degrees Celsius. During the fruiting period, it should not rise above 27 degrees Celsius.
  • Fertilizer should be applied approximately a week after planting the seedlings in the ground, once they have established themselves. Then, apply at 7-10 day intervals. It's important not to overdo the organic fertilizer, otherwise the foliage will begin to grow vigorously, and fruit set and ripening will be delayed.
  • The greenhouse needs to be ventilated every day, but carefully, without creating strong drafts.
  • It's best to grow the bush with two trunks, removing any side shoots that appear below the flower clusters. Leaves should also be plucked (cut off): completely after the fruit sets on the lower cluster, and every 1-2 leaves higher up the trunk.

NoteSome gardeners recommend not watering the plants until 7-10 days after planting them in the greenhouse. During this time, tomatoes develop a strong root system, which actively develops and branches in the soil, seeking water. This helps the plants grow stronger and develop better, resulting in a more abundant harvest.

The best fertilizers for the Lyubimets tomato

  1. Aqueous solutions and infusions of bird droppings and manure.
  2. Universal Fertilizer. It contains humic substances, which are essential for tomatoes.
  3. "Rastvorin" contains everything you need for any tomato variety: a balanced composition of macronutrients.
  4. Tomato Lyubimets will also like “Magnesium Sulfate”.
Note. All fertilizers should be applied according to the instructions provided with the products, unless otherwise stated in the article.

Secrets of proper watering

  • By watering the tomato plant right at the root, you can prevent the development of blossom-end rot.
  • Ideally, water the bush using drip irrigation. Avoid spraying the roots or branches with a strong stream.
  • You need to water when the soil under the bush dries out.
  • It's helpful to add ash to a bucket of water. It contains both nutrients and disease-fighting properties.

Review

Valentina Petrovna, Moscow region

I liked this variety. I grew it last year both in the greenhouse and in the garden beds. In the greenhouse, the fruits were harvested 10 days earlier than in the open ground. In the garden beds, they hung for a long time without falling off the branches. They proved to be weather-resistant. The Lyubimets made delicious preserves!
