What's good about the Prima Donna variety?
To get tomatoes early, you can train the bushes into single stems. The tomatoes are strong and dense, and they grow deliciously. This variety requires little care—just warm water and weeding. They need to be staked, as they will grow over a meter tall, and some even reach two meters. They are ideal for transportation, as the fruits are firm, resistant to cracking, and store well. Ripening from germination takes 90 days, and they can form up to eight clusters. The plant itself is attractively round, with a small, pointed tip, and is highly productive.
Reviews
NastyaI planted this variety and was so pleased I planted it again. I needed green tomatoes for a salad. I picked them when they were just turning brown. They were red inside, sweet and slightly tart. It made a wonderful winter salad. I got a huge harvest from three plants, so much so that I couldn't believe it. I fed them with herbal infusion, and they grew to a height of two meters!
MarinaThey said it could yield up to 18 kg per square meter. Of course, that wasn't the case, but overall, it yielded more than other varieties, and we both packed and ate our fill. I planted seedlings around March 20th, then pricked them out as soon as two leaves appeared. Then I took them out to harden off a little, and the transplant went well. During the growing season, don't forget to feed them and loosen the soil. They absolutely need warm water for watering—otherwise, they're trouble-free and resistant to all sorts of nasty things like late blight.
MilenaI planted them in the garden when they reached 5x6 leaves. I didn't take them out to harden them off, just opened the window to air them out, and that was it. I planted 3-4 plants per square meter, immediately installing stakes for tying them up, and the harvest was excellent.
