The new hybrid variety boasts beautiful clusters, harmonious berry flavor, and berry size. Characteristics of Dubovsky Pink Many winegrowers have appreciated the berries. Customers also love them, and they sell out faster than others at market. Experience has shown that Dubovsky Pink has a good immunity, and the vines are resistant to fungal infections.
Origin
Amateur selection, author S. E. Gusev used two parental forms during hybridization:
- Red Delight;
- Anniversary of Novocherkassk.
Name hybrid Named after the village of Dubovka in the Volgograd region, where S.E. Gusev conducted his breeding work.
Description of the variety
Dubovsky Pink is unparalleled in its vigor, surpassing other varieties in this regard. This early-ripening variety (105-110 days) is self-fertile, with bisexual flowers. Propagation is by own-root cuttings.
The clusters are impressive in size. The largest ones weigh over 2 kg, while the average ones weigh around 1.5 kg. They are conical in shape, loose, and may develop wings. The berries are large and bright pink. The largest ones weigh 20 g and range in length from 3.5 to 5 cm. They are shaped like an elongated icicle, with a slightly tapered tip that may curve slightly to the side.
The ripe berries have a harmonious flavor without muscatel or astringency, and the sugar content is optimal. The skin is imperceptible when eating, there are few bones (1-2), and the flesh is meaty and very juicy; if the bunch hangs on the vine for a long time, it becomes denser. The flavor is highly rated, with a score of 9.3.
Purpose of fruits:
- juice;
- compotes;
- wine;
- consumption fresh.
The bunches can be stored for up to several months. Dubovsky Pink is of interest to farmers growing grape For sale. The bunches not only store well, they also withstand long-distance transportation while maintaining excellent commercial quality.
Load and yield
The bushes are vigorous and can produce 1-2 clusters per fruiting shoot. A good harvest is obtained if only one cluster is left. During flowering, experienced winegrowers shorten the inflorescences to 30-35 cm, thereby achieving the optimal cluster size.
The berries begin to color in early August. This is when selective harvesting begins. Rainy weather does not affect the quality of the harvest. Cracking occurs in a small percentage of berries, and only those that have previously sustained mechanical damage are susceptible. To ensure a marketable harvest, clusters are not left on the vines for too long.
Winter hardiness
The minimum winter temperature the vine can withstand is 24°C. This is a good indicator of frost resistance. This new hybrid is currently grown in regions with mild climates. Only young vines are covered for the winter. There is no information on frost damage, but experienced winegrowers believe that covering mature vines is also beneficial.
Advantages
The hybrid has undeniable advantages. The bushes are especially decorative in August, when the berries turn a stunning pink. Dubovsky Ranevny consistently fruitfulOwn-rooted signalka seedlings produce fruit in the second year, while cuttings grafted onto mature vines produce fruit in the first year.
Advantages of the Dubovsky Pink hybrid:
- early ripening;
- productivity;
- transportability;
- mildew resistance;
- excellent taste;
- frost resistance.
Flaws
Reviews of the hybrid variety vary. There are no clear shortcomings of Dubovsky Pink. It has been noted that if the clusters are left on the bushes, they are damaged by wasps, and the berries absorb a lot of sugar, making them overly sweet. A drawback is the relative resistance to powdery mildew.
Planting and care features
The bushes are vigorous, so when planting, maintain a spacing of 3-3.5 meters. The vine fully reveals its potential when grown on double-sided trellises or V-shaped trellises with drooping shoots.
Side shoots are partially removed. This is necessary to prevent winter buds from waking up. Spreading the load accelerates the maturation of buds and shoots, increasing the bush's winter hardiness.
By pinching first-order side shoots, second-order side shoots are obtained. The form is capable of bearing fruit on these side shoots. Each second-order side shoot produces 1-2 inflorescences. To obtain a harvest from first-order side shoots, pinch the main shoot in the spring.
Fertilizing and watering
Fruit-bearing bushes respond well to organic matter. In the spring, a shallow trench (20-30 cm) is dug on both sides of the bush and filled tightly with compost. A second application of organic matter is made under the bush after flowering. Take the compost and mix it with slightly rotted straw.
The correct watering schedule: during the filling phase, 50 to 70 liters of water are poured under the bush from a hose every 7 days. To promote better wood maturation, the bushes are sprayed with phosphorus-potassium fertilizers.
Diseases and pests
Resistance to powdery mildew is comparable to Arcadia. Dubovsky Pink is not susceptible to mildew. To prevent powdery mildew outbreaks, the bushes are treated with the sulfur-containing fungicide Kumulus in August.
Berries are suffering from wasps. The harvest is saved by:
- using a net (used to cover bushes);
- hide the bunches in gauze bags;
- spray with water and vinegar.

This variety has proven itself in our region. The vines ripen well and are disease-free. We only perform preventative treatments, which are often sufficient. The grapes taste wonderful, and they look great, too.
Pavel, Volgograd
I'm happy with the Dubovsky early grapes. I grow them for sale, and they're the first to be sold. I can't say I have perfect care, but I have no complaints about the yields. I harvest a lot in any weather. They're one of the first to ripen. They're the most profitable in terms of price. The flavor and color are excellent.
Inna, Krasnodar region
I grafted Dubovsky Pink for a test run and picked the first bunch. My family loved the taste. They're very picky, but they were unanimous in their praise of Dubovsky. The berries have firm, juicy flesh. They hold tightly to the cluster and are very beautiful.
