Lavash appetizer "Guests in Shock" - the first to leave the table
This unusual appetizer of lavash rolls with vegetables looks delicious, tastes amazing, and is truly one of the first to disappear from the table. It's no wonder it's called "Guests in Shock."Cook more - you won't regret it, especially since the preparation is extremely simple, with predictably wonderful results.
For the vegetables, you'll need fresh white cabbage, bell pepper, carrot, and a pickled or salted cucumber. The cucumber may seem unnecessary, but the addition of the sour cucumber gives the filling a unique flavor, making it seem like stewed sauerkraut rather than fresh vegetables. Very unusual and delicious! But if this combination still bothers you, choose a vegetable mix of your choice. Add a little mayonnaise, just enough to combine the vegetables.
Ingredients:
- thin lavash sheet – 1 piece;
- white cabbage – 300 g;
- small carrots – 1 pc;
- salted cucumber (or marinated) – 1 pc;
- sweet pepper – 1 pc;
- salt – 0.5 tsp (to taste);
- black pepper – 1/3 tsp;
- mayonnaise – 2 tbsp. l;
- vegetable oil – 3-4 tbsp.
How to make a lavash appetizer called "Guests in Shock"
Shred the cabbage thinly, thinner than for salads, so that it has time to steam while frying the rolls.
Add finely chopped or grated carrots as well.
Sprinkle the cabbage and carrots with half a teaspoon of salt. Lightly mash them with your hands to soften the vegetables and release their juices, which we will then drain.
Drain off any excess vegetable juice. Add finely chopped bell pepper and grated or thinly sliced pickled cucumber to the cabbage. Add a little thick mayonnaise.
Cut the lavash sheet into quarters with scissors to create rectangles. Spread a very thin layer of mayonnaise on top and spread the filling, leaving the edges open.
Roll the lavash into a roll and press it lightly with your palm.
We cut each roll into three or four pieces, not very large.
Heat a little oil in a frying pan, add the rolls, and quickly brown them. Place them seam-side down, otherwise they will unravel. Flip them over and brown the other side.
Serve this original appetizer hot or cold, garnished with sauce, herbs, or tomatoes. Enjoy!
