How to make a herring and potato appetizer
Using a sharp knife, cut the long herring fillet into thin slices. Cut the red onion into rings. Cut the lemon into thin wedges.
Wrap a lemon slice in the fillet and secure the roll with a red onion ring. Make several rolls and arrange on a plate.
Cool two hard-boiled eggs and carefully peel the shells. Cut the eggs in half lengthwise and remove the yolk.
In a bowl, mix grated beets, egg yolks, finely chopped dill, mayonnaise, add a little diced herring, mix thoroughly.
Cut off the bottoms of the egg halves and fill the halves with beetroot filling.
Decorate the stuffed eggs with slices of herring and a leaf of parsley or dill.
Mash the avocado pulp with a fork or cut into cubes.
Add diced herring fillet (about 70 g) to the avocado, season with herbs and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
Fill the tartlets with a mixture of herring and avocado.
Grate boiled potatoes and two hard-boiled eggs on a fine grater, add softened butter, finely chopped herring (100 g) and half of the processed cheese.
Mix the ingredients thoroughly to obtain a thick, homogeneous mass.
Cool the mixture in the refrigerator for a few minutes, form into balls, and roll in chopped herbs.
In a bowl, mix two boiled eggs, fresh cucumber, herring fillet, remaining processed cheese, squeeze in a tablespoon of lemon juice.
Grind the ingredients with an immersion blender until a homogeneous paste is formed.
Place the paste on salted crackers or slices of boiled potatoes and garnish with herbs and cranberries.
Place the appetizers on a flat plate or large board and serve immediately. Enjoy.
